The first-ever round of the Laura Diaz FCWT Junior Girls Tour is in the books!! Amber Lindgren of Kokomo, IN had the honor of hitting the first tee shot of the new Tour and she did a wonderful job...christening the Tour with a perfect drive right down the middle of the first hole on the Kampen Course at Purdue University.

The golf course played very long after another night of torrential rain. Actually, the course was in excellent shape with pure fairways, fast greens, and nasty fescue that swallowed up errant shots.

Two girls are tied for the first round lead at 74. Stephanie Switzer of Beaver, PA overpowered the course with booming drives and solid ironplay. Jordan Craig played a somewhat of a more finesse game with matching results. Jordan, of Connellsville, PA put an exclamation point on her round with a birdie chip-in on the 18th. FCWT veteran Lauren May of St. Charles, IL rounded out the top three with a smooth 75.
