Hahn of Henderson, NV (2007) fired a round of 4 under par on Saturday that included 7 birdies to lead this division. He leads Chris Cho of San Diego, CA (2007) and Dustin Rhone of Culver City, CA (2008) by 2 strokes going into Sunday's final round. Three players are tied for 4th after one round of play: Geoff Gonzalez of Diablo, CA (2006), James Dalthorp III of Rancho Park, CA (2006), who T4 at Tucson, and Grant Doverspike of Bakersfield, CA (2006), who won at Bear Creek West. Josh Dupont of Poway, CA (2007) is in 7th place at even par. Three players are 5 strokes back and T8: Jake Bieber of Alamo, CA, David Zeuske of Coto de Caza, CA (2007), and Tyler Weworski of Carlsbad, CA (2007).
In the Boys 13-15 division, Danny Cacho of Fairfield, CA (2008) leads by one shot over Cameron Tennant of Woodland Hills, CA (2008). Ford Fischer of Plano, TX (2009) is in 3rd place at 3 over par 73. Cacho carded 4 birdies in his round of one over par 71 to lead this division. Ford Fischer was 2nd in birdies for the opening round with 3. In a tie for 4th and 6 strokes back are Tucker Wadkins of Dallas, TX (2011) and Parker Houston of Rancho Santa Fe, CA (2010).
In the boys 11-12 division, Luke Vivolo of Carmel, CA (2011) leads by 3 strokes over Kyle Bowser of Danville, CA (2012). Jay Lim of Stevenson Ranch, CA (2011) is in 3rd place. Vivolo and Bowser each carded two birdies in the opening round on Saturday. Vivolo is playing in his first FCWT event of the season; Bowser in his third. His previous finishes include a 2nd place at Castle Pines and a third place at Escena where Jay Lim finished 2nd.
The reigning FCWT Girls National Champion, 15 year old Taylore Karle of Scottsdale, AZ, is out to the first round lead at the Mission Hills Jr. Golf Invitational. Taylore opened Saturday's round with a 3 over par 73, that included 2 birdies. She leads senior Bethany Leclair, also of Scottsdale, AZ, by 2 strokes heading into Sunday's final round. Miss Leclair finished 3rd at Notre Dame and T5 last weekend at ASU. She leads Maria Angelica Villareal by 1 stroke entering the final round. Miss Villareal finished 6th at the FCWT Tucson event over Thanksgiving. In a tie for 4th are Danielle Frasier of Encinitaz, CA (2010), who led this division in birdies with 3 and who won the Tucson event and Bethany Glassford of Henderson, NV (2008).
