| Gregor Slabe of Ljubljana, SLOVENIA, 2007, put together the three best rounds of the Golfweek/FCWT Holiday Invitational to earn his first FCWT win of the season. Slabe shot 73-74-75 to win by one stroke over Roberto Francioni of Hausen, SWITZERLAND (2008). Slabe carded 10 birdies for the 3 rounds which tied with Jay Vandeventer and Carson Weinan for the most for the tournament. Francioni earned his highest finish of the season to date after a 7th place at World Woods. Finishing tied for 3rd at 227, 4 strokes back of Francioni, were first round leader Joon Kim of Treviso, ITALY (2007) and Jordan Elsen of Kenosha, WI (2006). One stroke back at 228 were 3 players tied for fifth: Carson Weinand of Naples, FL (2008), Dennis Kwon of Rockville, MD (2005), and Donnie Shin of Columbia, MD (2007). Rounding out the Top 10 were three players who finished at 229 and tied for 8th. Maxwell Campion of Boston, MA (2009), Kenny Wittenberg of Glen Ellyn, IL (2006), and Jay Vandeventer of Bristol, VA (2009). Three players tied for Low Round honors with a one over par round of 73: Carson Weinand, Dennis Kwon and Maxwell Campion. Campion led the tournament in pars with 37 for the event. |
