Dupont, an FCWT veteran who has had Top 5 finishes each of his three years on tour, leads the Boys 16-18 division with 8 birdies for the event. He will enter the final round with a three stroke advantage over second place. Kanny, who was able to fire a one under par (71) to take the opening round lead at the Teal Bend Junior Golf Classic despite the weather conditions, is playing in his first FCWT event. He will start the final round tied for 2nd place with senior Nicolas Podesta of Yuba City, CA, who began the day tied for 8th but carded a second round score of 71 to move up the board; Matthew Suddaby of Camarillo, CA (2006), who also carded a second round score of 71; and Connor Driscoll of Encinitas, CA (2007), who began the day tied for 4th. Michael Kraft of Pacific Grove, CA (2007) will start the final round in a tie for 6th place with Kenneth McCready. Kraft, who had one birdie for his round, led this division in pars with 14 on Saturday. Kenneth McCready of Placerville, CA, the FCWT 13-15 Western Region Player of the Year in 2003-04, carded a second round of 72 to move up from tied for 8th. McCready battled an injury most of last season, but don't count him out for tomorrow. Logan Goulding of Tracy, CA (2006) will start the final round in 8th place at 151 and Ian Dahl of Longview, WA (2007) and Grant Norton of Rancho Murieta, CA (2006) will start tied for 9th. Dahl moved into the Top 10 with a second round score of 73 while Norton began Sunday's round tied for 4th at +3. In the Boys 11-12 division, Jay Burlison of Salinas, CA (2013), has taken the lead from Kyle Bowser of Danville, CA (2012). Burlison, who is playing in his first FCWT event, carded a second consecutive round of 76 to have a 3 stroke advantage over Bowser going into the Monday's final round. opened with a round of 75 to lead Jay Burlison of Salinas, CA by one stroke. Twelve year old Andrew Olson of Brentwood, CA, is currently in third place. In the Boys 13-15 division, fourteen year old Parker Houston of Rancho Santa Fe, CA (2010), fired a one under par round on Sunday to move from second place into 1st place with one round to play. Houston, who won the FCWT Tucson event in November, will have a one stroke advantage over first round leader Reid Martin of Mukilteo, WA (2009). Martin, who was the 2003-04 FCWT Boys 11-12 National Champion, opened with a 72 then posted a 74 on Sunday. He finished 3rd at the FCWT Coyote Creek event in December. Martin will have a 6 stroke advantage over Matt Rawitzer of Bellingham, WA (2009). Fifteen year old Rawitzer carded a second round of 73 to move from 5th to 3rd place. Kevin Rei of Sonora, CA (2008), will start one back of Rawitzer in 4th place and Sam Smith of Turlock, CA (2009) will start the final round in 5th place after moving up the leaderboard with a second round score of 78. |
