Hack wins THIRD event It was another beautiful Florida day. The day started with temperatures in the 70s but warmed to the 80s under partly cloudy skies. In the boys 16-18 division, Jhared Hack of Heathrow, FL (2007) captured his third FCWT win of the season with a final round of 73 after firing an opening round of 3 under par 67 on Saturday. Hack, who has previously won at Grand Cypress and at Innisbrook, is currently the only FCWT player with 3 wins this season. Hack started the final round with a 2 stroke lead over Jared Fishman of Dade City, FL (2007). Fishman, who carded a 1 under par round of 69 on Saturday, started the final round all alone in 2nd place. Fishman's final round of 77 allowed him to finish tied for 3rd with Sean Dale of Jacksonville, FL and Jordan Lewis of West Frankfort, IL (2008). Diego Tamayo of Venezuela (2007) started the final round in 6th place after an opening round of one over par 71. He finished in 2nd place with a final round of 74. John Murphy of Wilton, CT (2006), fired the Low Round of 69 on Sunday to finish T6.
In the girls 11-13 division, 12 year old Daniela "Crash" Lendl of Goshen, CT, came from behind and birdied the final hole to earn her first FCWT win of the season. Lendl started the day 3 strokes back of 9 year old Cindy (Yueer) Tang of CHINA, who won last weekend at Innisbrook. In addition to her final birdie, Miss Lendl also carded one more par than Miss Tang. Simin Feng, who carded the most birdies in this division with 2, earned her second third place finish in as many events. In the Girls 13-18 division, Innapha Tantanavivat of Bangkok, THAILAND (2007) carded two consecutive rounds of 71 to win. Miss Tantanavivat started the final round two strokes back of Meghna Bal of New Delhi, INDIA (2006) who fired an opening round of one under par 69 on Saturday. Miss Tantanavivat tied for the Low Round Honors on Sunday (71) with So-Hyun Park of Bradenton, FL (2007) who began the day tied for 4th after an opening round of 72 (+2) and finished in 2nd. Finishing in third place was Marika Lendl of Bradenton, FL (2008). Marika who "hates to lose" finished one stroke back of Miss Park and 2 strokes back of Miss Tantanavivat. Marika tied So-Hyun and Innapha with the most pars for the event with 26. She finished 3 strokes ahead of her sister Isabelle who tied for 4th with overnight leader Meghna Bal. Hannah Yun and Sherlyn Popelka tied for the most birdies in this division with 6. In the boys 13-15 division, Jack Schultz of Whitefish Bay, WI, 2009, carded an opening round of even par to start the final round with a two shot lead over Hugh Lindstrom of Wesley Chapel, FL (2008) and William Sjaichudin of Queensland, AUSTRALIA (2010). On the 17th hole on Sunday, there was the possibility of a three-way playoff for the win, but Hugh Lindstrom's putt made a horseshoe around the hole and did not fall - putting Hugh in third place. After signing their cards, William and Jack headed to a playoff. William landed his approach shot within 2 feet of the cup and made his birdie for the win. Kyle Kopsick of Lake Bluff, IL (2008) took 4th place with a pair of 74s. Maxwell Campion of Boston, MA (2009) and Hojin Kang of Longwood, FL (2010) finished T5 at 150. |
