The Mission Inn Jr. Golf Masters opened on Friday with high 50s at tee time, but warming quickly in the Florida sun.  The weather cooperated for the entire event and the non-Floridians left with a bit of a tan.  After the scoring on Friday, fourteen year old Elisa Aoki of JAPAN (2009) led Ji Young Oh of Kyumggito, SOUTH KOREA (2007) after carding 4 birdies on the front nine and finishing at 1 under par.  On Saturday things changed as Miss Oh moved to the top of the leaderboard by firing a bogey-free round of 5 under par 66.  On Sunday, after making par on her first 4 holes, Ji Young made her first birdie of the day only to follow that up with a rare bogey.  She came back with a par on # 7 only to make a second bogey after another par, she made the turn at 1 over par.  Number 10 resulted in a birdie putting her back to even par on the day then things began to roll.  Three pars in a row, then three birdies in a row before finishing par-birdie-bogey on the last 3 holes.  A 3 under par 68 in her final round allowed her to finish at 6 under for the event. had a 3 stroke advantage over

Miss Aoki, who previously won at Champions Gate this season, finished in second place at 216, two strokes ahead of third place.  Her 39 pars for the event was second only to Jessica Korda of Bradenton, FL (2011) who finished in 6th place.  Victoria Tomko of Lontzen, BELGIUM (2006), finished in 3rd place and was the only player in this division to card an eagle for the event.

Innapha Tantanavivat of Bangkok, THAILAND (2007), who won at Saddlebrook, finished in 4th place and Ines Chandra of Kuta-Baci, INDONESIA (2007) finished in 5th place, her best of the season.

In the girls 13 and under division, Doris Chen of Taipei, TAIWAN (2011) took over the lead from Cindy Tang of Shenzhen, CHINA (2014) on Saturday and never looked back.  Miss Chen, playing in her first FCWT event, began the final round with a six stroke advantage and held on to win by 3 despite a final round charge from Miss Tang who carded the low round of 76.  Finishing in third place was Allie Kiser of Orlando, FL, who carded the Low Round on Saturday with a 75.  Miss Kiser won the Feather Sound event earlier this month.

BOYS 13-15 division

Once in awhile a player comes along whose game moves with ease from one level to the next.  Tanapol Vattanpisit of Rayong, THAILAND (2012) is one of those players.  Tanapol began the season at the 11-12 level finishing 3rd at Grand Cypress and then winning at Plantation.  He then moved up to the 13-15 division and finished in 3rd and T3 in his next two events.  Here at Mission Inn he won his first 13-15 division title 10 days after his 13th birthday.  His big move on the leaderboard came on Saturday when he, along with Hojin Kang, fired a round of 3 under par 68 that moved him from T5 to 2nd place.  On Sunday, he held his own with a round of 71 to finish at 1 under for the event.  Devin Patel of Celebration, FL (2008), made a charge on Sunday with his own round of 68 but fell two strokes short of Tanapol to finish T2 with ZeYu He of Shen Zhen, CHINA (2009).  Also going low on Sunday was Andrew Colvin of Longwood, FL (2009)  who fired a 2 under par 69 to finish tied for fifth with Byeong-Hun An of SOUTH KOREA (2009), who led this division in birdies with 14.  Second round leader Hojin Kang of Longwood, FL (2010) finished in 4th place at 214.

In the boys 11-12 division, John Boehme of Jacksonville Beach, FL (2012) earned his third FCWT win of the season.  Boehme finished at 222 for the event, 3 strokes better than 2nd place Jason Hak of Beijing, CHINA (2012).  Hak carded the Low Round of the day with a 72 that closed the gap but wasn't quite enough to catch Boehme this time around.  Motin Yeung of Beijing, CHINA (2012) finished in 3rd place.
