Senior Taylor Coffman of San Diego, CA, fired a 5 under par 66 top open the Ridge at Castle Pines Classic, with only one bogey in his opening round. The Colorado weather was awesome on Saturday - 65 and no wind. On Sunday, things cooled down considerably to between 38 and 45, overcast and cold, but still no wind. However, even the dismal forecast couldn't totally knock Taylor down. On Sunday he posed a round of 2 under par 69 to win his first FCWT event by 3 strokes over Tyler Rody of Andover, KS. Rody, who finished T7 at the season opener at the University of Oklahoma, came on strong on Sunday with a final round of 3 under par 68 to finish in 2nd place after an opening round of 1 under par 70. Tyler also tied for the low round honors on the final day with Paul Berry who finished in 4th for the tournament and led the field with 11 birdies for the event. In the boys 11-12 division, Kraig Mcleod, Pebble Beach, CA, 2012 won his first FCWT event of the season. Colorado seems to treat Mcleod well as he won last season at the Murphy Creek event. Eleven year old Dylan Healey of Albuquerque, NM, 2012 finished in 3rd place with rounds of 76-75-151.
