At the end of 36 holes, the three players in the final group of the Boys 16-18 division, were all tied for the lead. Brian Murphy of Wilton, CT (2009) must have had enough because he made short order of the playoff by making birdie on the first playoff hole (# 10) and winning the event (maybe he needed to hurry home to watch the Red Sox?) In any case, the 17 year old earned his second Top 5 of the season and his first FCWT win in two seasons. The other two players in the playoff finished tied for 2ndJohn Brennan of East Longmeadow, MA (2009) had 6 birdies for the event which tied for the most with Eddie Hjerpe.  Tobin Dunigan of Jackson, MI (2008) the final member of the playoff group led this division in most pars or better percentage with 72.2%. Eddie Hjerpe of Barrington, RI (2009) finished in 4th place at 155 after firing a final round of 72 and earning the Low Round Award.  Nick McLaughlin of New Castle, NH (2012) finished tied for 5th overall and at the top of the boys who play the 13-15 division. Michael Buenaventura of Weston, MA (2008) shared 5th with McLaughlinAlex DiClemente of Burlington, CT (2010) finished the 2nd best among the 13-15 players at tied for 8th overall. Jared Adams of Barrington, RI (2010) finished the 3rd best in the 13-15 at tied for 19th.

In the Girls 13-18 division, Samantha Morrell of North Kingstown, RI (2009) held on to win by one stroke over Bryce Schroeder of Pueblo, CO (2012)Miss Morrell is a first year FCWT player playing in her first event. She has now earned exempt status for the remainder of the season including the National Championship in May. Miss Morrell carded 16 pars and 2 birdies on the weekend. Thirteen year old Bryce Schroeder hung with Miss Morrell as she also carded 16 pars and 2 birdies, but came up one stroke short of the Champions’ title in this her first event. Chelsea Demers of Wilton, NH (2008) and fellow New Hampshirian Cortney Tilley of Plaistow, NH (2009) finished tied for 3rd.
