Sixteen year old Mateusz Jedrzejczyk of Warsaw, POLAND (2009) fired the only sub-par round on Saturday in the Boys 16-18 division of the PGA National Open.  His one under par round gives him a one stroke advantage over 4 players who opened with a round of even par heading into Sunday's final round.  Mateusz, who finished 8th at the PGA Golf Club Open in September, made 2 birdies and one bogey and tied for the most pars with 15 for his round.  He leads Joshua Eure of Crofton, MD (2009), who tied for the most birdies in this division with 4;  Micah Jacobsen of Fernandina Beach, FL (2008), who carded the only eagle on Saturday when he made a 3 on the par 5 18th hole; John Varol of Weddington, NC (2010) and Sean Keller of West Islip, NY (2009).  Fifteen players are within 5 shots of the leader so a lot can happen on Sunday.

In the Boys 13-15 division, 13 year old Shun Yat Hak of Lake Mary, FL (2012) leads by 4 strokes after an opening round of even par.  Hak is an FCWT All-American who won twice last season and will be looking for his first win of the season on Sunday.  Currently in 2nd place is FCWT newcomer Trey Valentine of Melbourne, FL (2011).  Valentine made birdie on the first hole and finished with a 76 on the day to be one stroke ahead of Tanapol Vattanapisit of Rayong, THAILAND (2011), who is 5 strokes back of the leader.  Three players are tied for 4th at 78 and three are tied for 7th at 79.

In the Boys 11-12 division, Rigel Fernandes of Dubai, UAE (2013) leads by 2 strokes over Kristian Perry of Boca Raton, FL (2015).

In the Girls 13-18 division at PGA National, Elisa Aoki of JAPAN (2009) took the first round lead with a two over par.  Last month, Miss Aoki, finished T3 at the World Woods event.  On Sunday, she will be looking for her first win of the season.  In order to accomplish that goal, she will have to hold off Laetitia Beck of Caesarea, ISRAEL (2010) and Jennifer Gartin of Port St. Lucie, FL (2008)Miss Aoki can rise to the challenge.  At World Woods she carded a final round of 69.  Miss Beck, however, is a very formidable competitor, who already won at the PGA Golf Club Open this season.  Miss Gartin, a 2nd year player, is playing in her first event of the season.  Young Samantha Marks, 13, of Maitland, FL (2012), is holding her own and currently in 4th place, the highest of the girls who also play the 11-14 division.  She is only two strokes back of Miss Aoki - not out of reach by far.  Three players are tied for 5th as they enter Sunday's round:  13 year old Ginger Howard of Bradenton, FL (2012), 17 year old Joana de Sa Pereira of Cannes, FRANCE, and Alexandria Buelow of Palm City, FL (2009)Twelve year old Robbi Howard of Bradenton, FL (2013) is only 4 strokes back of the leader and in 8th place.
