At The Ridge at Castle Pines Open the story was the wind.  With gusts up to 50 mph, ball control was a real issue.  The temperatures were very mild in the upper 70s, but the cold front coming through will drop the highs for tomorrow by more than 10 degrees.

Two FCWT veterans are co-leading the Boys 16-18 division heading into the final round.  Kory Harrell of Colorado Springs, CO (2008) and Nick Allen of Littleton, CO (2010) both carded rounds of four over par (75) on Saturday.  Allen led the field in pars with 12 for the round.  David Best of Leawood, KS (2009) will join the two co-leaders in the final pairing of the day.  Sixteen year old best carded a 76 on Saturday, putting him only one stroke out of the lead.  Sixteen year old William Skinner of Boulder, CO (2009) will start in 4th place at 77.  Three players are tied for 5th at 78:  Brendan Beeg of Littleton, CO (2009), who led this division in birdies with 4, Nolan Meyer of Harrisburg, SD (2008), and Aleem Rahman of Dubai, UAE(2008). Zachary Chyz of Las Vegas, NV (2009) and Ben Davis of Lakewood, CO (2008) are tied for 8th place at 79.  Jay Tymkovich of Broomfield, CO (2008) will begin the final round in 10th place at 80, only 5 shots back of the leaders.

In the Boys 13-15 division Tyler Engel of Castle Rock, CO (2011) leads all scores after an opening round of 76.  Engel, a second year FCWT player, led this division in pars with 13.  He will be looking for his first FCWT win on Sunday as he tries to hold off newcomer Andrew McCain of Pueblo, CO (2012)Thirteen year old McCain, who finished in 7th place at the TPC Tampa Bay event, carded an opening round of 79 putting him two strokes ahead of 3rd place Tyler Lovato of Westminster, CO (2011), who is 5 strokes back of the leader EngelTaylor White of Dakota Dunes, SD (2011), who led this division in birdies with 4, and Wyndham Clark of Greenwood Village, CO (2012) are right behind Lovato at 82.

In the Boys 11-12 division, Evan Mcleod of Pebble Beach, CA (2013) carded an 80 to lead all scores.

In the Girls division, 14 year old Paige Spirinac of Monument, CO (2011) leads all scores after an opening round of 78.   Paige, a 3rd year FCWT player, finished 2nd at this event in May after the event scheduled for last October had to be re-scheduled due to a snowstorm.  While they are not calling for snow tomorrow, a cold front is moving through Colorado which will drop temperatures significantly.  After balmy weather on Saturday, Sunday's highs in the 50s will feel more like Colorado in October.  Paige led the field in pars with 10 and has a 3 shot advantage over Grace Duboc of Greenwood Village, CO (2009), who led this division in birdies with 4.  Senior Leslie McGetrick of Highland Ranch, CO will start in 3rd place after an opening round of 87.   Twelve year old Claudia Davis of Centennial, CO (2013) led the younger girls with a round of 92.
