Sean's Second Stanza ~ victory # 2 of the season
The weather was great for the 36 holes of the Grand Cypress Classic. The course was in excellent condition. The players were ready - especially one young man. On the PGA some players choose to take the week off before or after a major event - to "work out the kinks" or to rest. The same is not always the case in the younger echelons of golf - case in point: Sean Dale.
Sean Dale of Jacksonville, FL (2008) played in the POLO Junior Golf Classic last week at the nearby Ginn Reunion Resort. After finishing tied for 16th in stroke play, Dale advanced in the match play rounds all the way to the final match where he finished runner-up to Bjorn Akesson of Malmo , Sweden. But instead of taking the week off, he arrived here ready to play this weekend. An opening round of 72 put him outside of the Top 5, but Sean has been playing golf long enough to know there is always tomorrow. So on Sunday, he fired a three-under par 69 to finish 2 strokes ahead of

Fatehbir Dhaliwal of Chandigarh, INDIA (2008). Of his four seasons playing the FCWT, Sean says "I wouldn't be where I am in junior golf if it wasn't for the FCWT . . . It has challenged me for over 3 years to improve and be the best I can be." On Sunday, Sean's best was a second win for the current season and a third season as an FCWT All-American.

Devin Patel of Celebration, FL (2008), was his best finish to date. Both young men carded rounds of 71-72 to finish at 143. Overnight leader Blake Biddle of St. Charles, IL (2010) , who co-led this division in pars with 28, finished in 4th place at 144, just ahead of Ryan Thornton of Chattanooga, TN (2009). Daniel Walker of Earlysville, VA (2009) carded the second best round of the day, 71, to move up to 6th place. Two-time winner Oscar Sharpe of Cheltenham, ENGLAND (2010), carded a final round of even par to move into a tie for 12th.
In the Boys 13-15 division, 15 year old Pablo Serna of Armenia, COLOMBIA (2009) led wire-to-wire to win his first FCWT event! On Saturday he opened with a 73, even after an 8 on the par 5 2nd hole. He led this division in birdies with 5 on Saturday. On Sunday, he carded a 76 which was just enough to hold off Bennett Lavin of Deerfield, IL (2011) who began the day in 3rd place but carded a final round of 75 to move up to 2nd.
