The weather was great, in the mid 70's for the opening round of the Grand Cypress Classic.  The course itself is in excellent condition.  Blake Biddle of St. Charles, IL (2010) fired a 3 under par 69 with only one bogey on the day to lead all scores in the Boys 16-18 division at the Grand Cypress Classic.  Biddle, who is playing in his first event of the season, won twice last year.  Biddle leads 4 players who are currently tied for 2nd by 2 strokes.  Joseph Szmadzinski of Northville, MI (2009), Devin Patel of Celebration, FL (2008), Ryan Thornton of Chattanooga, TN (2009), and Fatehbir Dhaliwal of Chandigarh, INDIA (2008)all carded opening rounds of one under par 71.  Dhaliwal led this division in pars with 17.  Lucas Leibel of Toronto, ON (2008) and Sean Dale of Jacksonville, FL (2008), who carded the only eagle on Saturday, are tied for 6th at 72, even par.  Clark Gates-George of Bradenton, FL (2008) and D.J. Janolo of Kissimmee, FL (2009) will start the final round tied for 8th at 73, 4 shots back of the leader.  Cody Vance of Lakewood, CO (2010) rounds out the top 10.

In the Boys 13-15 division, 15 year old Pablo Serna of Armenia, COLOMBIA (2009) led all scores with a 73, even after an 8 on the par 5 2nd hole.  Serna is a first year player playing in his first FCWT event.  He led this division in birdies with 5 for the round.  He has a 1 stroke advantage over Samuel Hockfield of Gladwyne, PA (2010)Hockfield had 4 birdies on his round which gives him a slight, one stroke advantage over a 3some tied for 3rd.  Bennett Lavin of Deerfield, IL (2011), Jerrell Parrish of Glen Dale, MD (2010), and Tanapol Vattanapisit of Rayong, THAILAND (2011), who led this division in pars on Saturday with 15, will all start just 2 strokes back of our leader, Serna.  Thirteen year old Hank Lebioda of Winter Springs, FL (2012) will start the final round in 6th place after an opening round of 77.

Fifteen year old Victoria "Tori" Kiser of Orlando, FL (2010) is looking to become the first FCWT player of the season to earn 3 wins.  Miss Kiser opened the Grand Cypress event with a round of +1 73, carding 4 birdies along the way to lead this division.  She has a one stroke advantage over 12 year old Annie Park of Levittown, NY (2013), who is playing her first event of the season.  Miss Park is two strokes ahead of 12-year old Karen Chung of Livingstone, NJ (2013)Miss Chung has one Top 3 finish already this season at Eagle Creek.  Two players are tied for 4th at 79:  Yueer "Cindy" Feng of Orlando, FL (2014) and Joana de sa Pereira of Cannes, FRANCE (2010), six shots back of Miss Kiser.
