Catherine O'Donnell, a hometown favorite, took the first round lead in the Girls 13-18 division played on the Valley Course at Sawgrass. Miss O'Donnell, a 3rd year player, was looking for her first FCWT win on Sunday when she headed to the golf course. But it was not to be this time. Instead the future UNC-CH Tarheel took home 2nd place, wedged between Miss Howard and Low Round recipient, Michelle Lee of Mississauga, ON, CANADA (2010), who finished in 3rd place.
For Ginger Howard of Bradenton, FL (2012), who has been establishing herself well in the older division, the win is added to the two top 3 finishes she already earned this season. Her 5 birdies and 23 pars on the weekend demonstrated the strength and balance of her game at such a young age, which is why she is already ranked #102 in the country in the Golfweek/Titleist girls rankings.
For the 15 year old Miss Lee, it was her second top 3 in as many weeks. Her time in the winner's circle is likely to come soon.

Leaderboard Shuffle puts YOON on top
Fourteen year old James Yoon of Asuncion, PARAGUAY (2012) began the final round of the Sawgrass event in 4th place in the Boys 13-15 division after opening with a round of 74. But as noted at the end of round one, Yoon had already won once this season at Naples, so he couldn't be counted out. Well, he proved that on Sunday when he fired a final round of even par 72 to finish just one stroke ahead of first round leader

fourteen year old A.J. Crouch of Jacksonville, FL (2012).
On Saturday, Crouch carded 3 birdies, led this division in pars with 13 and finished at 1 under par to lead all scores in this division. A.J. previously finished 5th at the World Golf event. He struggled a bit on Sunday, but two top 5 finishes this season make him a known contender. While Yoon led this division in birdies with 8 for the event, Crouch led in pars with 26.
