Round One of the Innisbrook Open saw temperatures reach the mid-70s and fortunately play was completed prior to the arrival of predicted thunderstorms. The cold front is expected overnight and the temperatures will probably be about 10 degrees colder for round two.

FCWT veteran Cyril Suk of Bradenton, FL (2011) fired a 2 under par opening round on Saturday. Four birdies and only 2 bogeys on the day allowed Suk to enter the clubhouse with a one stroke advantage over two players tied for 2nd.

Carson Weinand of Naples, FL (2009) will start the second round at 1 under par 70. Ralph led this division in birdies on Saturday with 6, three on each side. Weinand, who recently finished second at Tiburon, and finished T5 earlier this season at Westchase, would really like a win here. The 4th year player has come as close as 2nd place in his FCWT career, but so far a win has eluded him. Four players will start the second round tied for 4th:

Thirty players are within 10 shots of the leader with 2 rounds to play.
There is a tie for the lead in the Boys 13-15 division after 18 holes of play.

Kevin Giulini of Frankfurt, GERMANY (2011), both opened with rounds of 73. Winslow, who led this division in birdies with 4, finished 3rd in his only event so far this season, the Bear Creek West Open in November. Giulini, who led this division in pars with 14, has a 2nd and a 3rd so far this season at Amelia and Sawgrass, respectively. Chad Merzbacher of Dublin, OH (2012) will start the second round in 3rd place, just one stroke back of our leaders at 74. Peter French of Franklin, MA (2012) will start round two in 4th place at 75. David Dresselhaus of Largo, FL (2010) is currently 5th after an opening round of 76. Alex Kang of Tigard, OR (2011) is at 77 and Chipper Hughes of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (2010) is at 78, just 5 strokes back of our leaders.
YOUTH leads the way in the Girls division

Twelve year old Karen Chung of Livingston, NJ (2013) is leading the field in the Girls division at the Innisbrook Open. Chung, who won the Mystic Dunes Open against some very good competition and was named the Girls Golfweek Player of the Week that week, carded an opening round of 72 on Saturday here at Innisbrook. Chung was the only player in this division to card an eagle. Her two on the par 4 2nd hole allowed her to have a one stroke advantage over 12 year old Annie Park of Levittown, NY (2013) and

14 year old Doris Chen of Bradenton, FL (2011). Miss Park led this division in pars with 14 on Saturday. She and Miss Chen will start round two one stroke ahead of two more experienced players: Gabrielle Balit of Montreal, CANADA (2009) and Alexis Holmes of West Chester, PA (2008). Miss Holmes, led this division in birdies with 4. She and Miss Balit will begin the second round at 74.
