John Boehme

Boehme comes from tied for 6th to win his first FCWT 16-18 Title

The Planation Inn Open got off to a late start on Saturday after a morning rain that put tee times about three and a half hours behind. All players were on the course by early afternoon, and enjoying the warm temperatures (upper 70s). While much of the country had winter woes, spring feels right around the corner in Florida.

Seiji Liu

In the Boys 16-18 division, Seiji Liu of Beverly Hills, CA (2010) fired a near flawless round of 5 under par 67, making only one bogey on the day. Duffy and Liu both carded 6 birdies on Saturday to lead this division. Two players started the final round tied for 4th at 71: Jan Ryba of CZECH REPUBLIC and Grant Gaugler III of Bradenton, FL (2008). Five strokes back of the leader and tied for 6th place at the beginning of Round Two were John Boehme of Jacksonville Beach, FL (2012) and Motin Yeung of CHINA (2012). On Sunday, Boehme began the day going par-par-bogey, then made his second eagle of the event on the par 5, 485-yard 5th hole, making him the only player to card 2 eagles in this division. Three birdies on the back nine helped John finish at 2 under par on the day and 2 under for the event, which gave him the win by 2 strokes over Chung Hung Chan of Bradenton, FL (2009) who carded a final round of 1 under par to move up the leaderboard, and Jan Ryba of CZECH REPUBLIC, who began the day tied for 4th. Ryba led this division in birdies for the event with 9 while Chan led in pars with 28 for the weekend.
