Palm Beach Garden, FL: The Boys 11-15 Championship is taking place on the Haig Course at PGA National. Over 70 players from 5 countries and 21 states began Round One between 7:30 and 9:30 on Saturday morning.

Yoon

James Yoon of Asuncion, PARAGUAY (2012), who was recognized as the FCWT Boys 13-15 East Region Player of the Year at Friday night's Awards Dinner, was the first player in at even par. Yoon, 14, won three times this season on the FCWT, including two of the largest Boys 13-15 regular season fields, Sawgrass and Mission Inn. Not too long thereafter, Clancy Waugh of North Palm Beach, FL (2013) joined Yoon at even par. Waugh carded an eagle on the par 4 8th hole on Saturday, the first player to do so in this division Waugh finished 3rd last season in the Boys 11-12 National Championship.

One stroke back of the leaders at 73 (+1) are:

Clark

Wyndham Clark of Greenwood Village, CO (2012),

Smyers

Scott Smyers of Lakeland, FL (2010), and Chris Ingham of Pinecrest, FL (2011). Clark won the University of New Mexico event this season and had three Top 3 finishes. Smyers won the Candler Hills Open and finished 2nd at Feather Sound. Ingham played in the National Championship last season, but opened with an 83, making for a 10 shot improvement this season.

Austin Powell

Austin Powell of Jupiter, FL (2011), who won the PGA Golf Club Open in September,

Logan Jones

Logan Jones of Dublin, OH (2010), who won the Yankee Trace Open, and

Ben Esparaza

Ben Esparaza of Tucson, AZ (2010), who won the Tucson Classic, are at 74 (+2).

Three strokes back and in a tie for 9th at 75 are

Chad M

Chad Merzbacher of Dublin, OH (2012), who won at Tiburon, and 13 year old Andrew Ullman of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (2013), who had 6 Top 10 finishes during the regular season.

Palm Beach Garden, FL: The Boys 11-12 FCWT National Championship also teed off on the Haig Course. Fifteen players from 5 states and 5 foreign countries made up the field.

Doyle

Ben Doyle of San Diego, CA (2014) was the first to top the leaderboard with a round of +4 (76). Doyle, 12,won three regular season events this season (Mission Hills Open, PGA West and La Costa). He was recognized as one of the FCWT Faces of the Future at Friday night's Awards Dinner.

Langan

When Drew Langan of Winnetka, IL (2013) arrived in the scoring area, he had matched Doyle's score with his own round of +4. Langan won the Bear Creek East Open in March.

Petefish

But when Christopher Petefish of Danville, CA (2014) arrived in the scoring area, he took over the lead. Petefish, who was named one of three Players of Promise for the youngest divisions of the FCWT, opened with a round of 75 (+3). Petefish has 6 wins this season and has finished no lower than 3rd. He will begin Round Two with a 1 stroke advantage over Doyle and Langan, who are tied for 2nd. Two ten year olds are tied for 4th place.

Snyder

David Snyder of Austin, TX (2016), who led this division in pars with 12, and

Zhang

Terrence Zhang of Vancouver, CANADA (2015) are at 77, 2 strokes back of Petefish.

Hanzelko

Twelve year old Timmy Hanzelko of Longwood, FL (2014) and

osama khan

Osama Khan of BARBADOS (2014) will start Round Two tied for 6th at 80, 5 strokes back of the lead.

Jaramillo

Daniel Jaramillo of COLOMBIA (2014), also named a Player of Promise on Friday night for his 6 wins in the Eastern Region, will start in 8th place at 81. James Rileyof Hattiesburg, MS (2015), who tied Petefish for the most birdies in Round One with 3, will start in 9th place in this field of 16.
