After receiving an invitation from the Japan Junior Golf Association at the recommendation of the AJGA, the Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT) has assembled a U.S. Team comprised of four boys and three girls to participate in the sixth-annual Honda International Junior Championship which will take place at the Wild Duck Country Club in Nikkawa Kamisu City, Japan, on October 24th - 26th. Along with Japan, the US will also be competing against a team from England that is anchored by 17-year old Jonathan Bell, winner of two key championships this year and capped in the Boys Home Internationals. The format for the tournament is three rounds of stroke play with the best three scores to count each day. The U.S. Team is comprised of: Raymond Gillip II from Las Vegas, NV (2009), Brandon Hagy of Westlake Village, CA (2009), Reid Martin of Mukilteo, WA (2009) and Sam Saunders of Albuquerque, NM (2010), along with: Danielle Kang of Oak Park, CA (2010), Lauren Salazar of Santa Clara, CA (2012), and Daniela Lendl of Bradenton, FL, and Goshen, CT. In FCWT play during the 2007-2008 season this team earned 9 wins and 18 Top 5 finishes. So far during the very early going of the 2008-2009 season, Gillip won the Classic Club Challenge and added a 6th place finish at Notre Dame. Many of the other players have not yet competed in their first event of the season.
