Future Collegians World Tour

All is well, despite not getting a full night’s sleep. Breakfast was not as big a surprise as we thought, most of the items were familiar. Our Sushi man, Reid did state that he could eat sushi any time of day except at breakfast time.
At 8 AM we made our way over to Wild Duck CC. The clubhouse is quite large and fairly impressive. Each person is assigned a locker in which they can put their things and then head out to play. The system works quite well, where ever you go, you just sign for everything using your locker number. This includes range balls, green fees, snacks and lunch. The JJGA were very hospitable and picked up the tab.
Now comes the fun part. See photo of golf cart rules.

Each foursome is loaded up on a cart - yes - ONE cart. It was great, felt like playing golf in a limousine.

The focus was on having a few swings today, nothing to stressful, just a round that would loosen up a few muscles, reminding us about the task at hand later this week. We set up a friendly match; Boys vs. Girls & Hugo. The boys were chauffeured by Karyn Hagy and the Girls by Delores Salazar. The format was simple, 1 score to count on each hole in relation to par and more than one score on A par 3, 4 & 5 if more than one birdie was made. The prize - not having to carry your golf bags to your room at the end of the day. The individual prize, "choosing the restaurant for dinner" would be the person who made the most birdies.
The boys put up a respectable 6 under. The girls and Hugo outscored them by 2 strokes at 8 under par. Daniel Kang and Brandon Hagy each had 4 birdies. The boys were happy to hear that we could leave the clubs at the course and we are off to sample Chinese food this evening.
Wild Duck CC? Perhaps the best way to describe the course is as a old style Florida course. Flat, Bermuda type grass, tees, fairways and rough. Not very complicated and can get tough if the wind decides to blow. The greens have some sort of Bent grass blend. You always know which way the wind is blowing thanks to the wind sock in each fairway used as an aiming point.
After 9 holes you must exit the course and head in for lunch. I saw Spaghetti and meatballs, Seafood tempura, beef curry and more coming out and being enjoyed.
Cheers for now.
