The FCWT will once again be traveling overseas to the home of golf during the Summer of 2009. Eight boys will have the amazing opportunity to represent the FCWT and the USA in Scotland. The tour will allow them to experience the finest links golf, play competitive matches and represent the USA in an internationally recognized junior tournament, The Scottish Boys Junior Championships. Application FCWT members may apply to participate in this once in a lifetime opportunity. The applicants will be chosen based on their FCWT track record and their national ranking. Two important criteria must be met before applying;
All those interested may apply via e-mail to fcwtgolf@aol.com. Applications will be accepted until February 15th. The team will be announced in early March. Schedule The first golfing destination will be the towns of Gullane and North Berwick. The Gullane courses will be a great introduction to links golf, followed by a friendly match against the juniors of North Berwick, which is a famous Open qualifying course. The second stop will be in the famed town of St. Andrews. Our accommodations will be right in the heart of town and will give the team access to The Old Course, Carnoustie, St. Andrews Bay Links and possibly Kingsbarns. A team match is scheduled against the Fife county junior team, which has been a formidable task in the past. The final stop will take the boys to nearby Ladybank Golf Club, host to this year's Scottish Boys Junior Championship. This championship is internationally recognized and has been a great springboard for FCWT junior golfers over the years. In 2008, Evan Markley came home with the low score trophy for the under 16’s.
